This particular atheist is in need of neither saving nor comfort. I'm doing just fine, thank you, with no hint of spirituality, gods, or religion in my life.
I know many atheists. None of them seem to feel that they are missing anything spiritual in their lives, and we don't appreciate people trying to tell us that we are. Unless I inquire, I don't want to hear about anyone else's "own story and the choices they made in search of their own peace and joy. " I'm happy they're happy, however they got there.
I'm not on any spiritual journey. (Or perhaps I am, and the goal is to have no spirituality at all, in which case, mission accomplished.) So please, religious people, believe and worship as you wish, but keep your thoughts and prayers to yourselves unless someone asks. An atheist will never come to your door to tell you how wrong you are.
