Nicely stated. I've been an atheist for more than 55 years. I don't need a god, a religion, or one of many (conflicting) rule books to give me a sense of morality. I simply need to look around and recognize that there are a lot of other people on the planet who are as entitled as I am to life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness, and other good "things." Some are less fortunate than I, so I'm obligated by my own sense of morality to help them as I can. Sounds like a moral code to me.

Interestingly, not long ago I offered this explanation to someone who was pushing god on Medium.com. He responded, "Do you really believe that everyone else is entitled to the same things you are?" Well... yeah. Why didn't he?
