Many of us who are nonbelievers really do not appreciate the evangelizing. People can believe and practice anything they wish, so long as it does not affect others. Coming to my house and sharing one's beliefs in the mission that god has told them to spread the word and convert people, or bringing religion into public schools or other public, secular discourse is an unwelcome and inappropriate intrusion. Atheists never interrupt anyone's dinner to tell them what they should believe.

Nor can I take seriously any god that is more concerned about what people believe than in how they behave toward others.
