Ilja, where in my response did you see anything about "determining all of that information in advance of a first iteration"? I didn't say that.

Don't you think it's a good idea to consider a first cut at few things before you start writing code, like your business objectives for undertaking the effort in the first place, who the stakeholders are, etc? Or do you think it's a better idea to ignore all that and fix it later?
