Congratulations on finishing the draft, Nicole! That milestone is one of the three points at which I always feel like I've written a book (the other two are when the production process with the publisher is finished and when I hold the first copy in my hands). I know what you mean. It's disheartening to receive a lot of critical review and editorial feedback, but it's an essential part of the process.
One way to make it less painful it is to do it incrementally, getting feedback on chapters as you go along so you can make the rest of the upcoming chapters better from the outset. You might find my other recent Medium.com articles about writing, reviewing, and publishing books helpful.
Yes, you will definitely be able to write future books faster. When I wrote my first book, I had no idea what I was doing. My second one went far smoother. Now I know how to write books efficiently and it's not so unpleasant, although it's still a lot of work.
Good luck!
