Congrats on crossing the authorship chasm with your child as co-author! I hadn't thought much about writing a novel before my first one, The Reconstruction, but I had such an incredibly cool idea for a forensic mystery novel that I had to see if I could write fiction. (I used to say that I hadn't written any fiction since my PhD thesis in chemistry; now I can't make that joke anymore.) Turns out I could write fiction, so now I have more ideas. Good luck!
