An illuminating and scary piece, thanks, Carlyn. I'm fortunate to live in a state with two right-thinking senators. Every time I write to them asking them to vote to oppose these sorts of destructive shenanigans, I know that they will, even without my encouragement. In the end, though, we're all still victimized because there are virtually no Republicans left in Congress with a milligram of courage or integrity.
