After my dad retired from the Air Force, we settled in Boise. I went to junior high, high school, and college there. When I left Boise for graduate school in 1973, I never looked back. I've now lived in the Portland, OR, suburbs for 24 years. As I wrote in a song once, "I'm glad I live in a blue state, 'cause I'd rather be dead than red."
