A lovely story, Natalie. If the girl had not announced herself as being trans, would you have even given it a thought? Could you tell? If not, then it really should make no difference to anyone other than her. She went into a place where she belonged. A comfortable, casual conversation took place, like usual. That should be all there is to it. Yet a portion of the public (let alone politicians) feels the need to freak out over such things, for no reason and to no end.
I'm a straight, cis (and sort of old) man, but I just don't get trans- or homophobia. How does someone else being LGBTQ+ harm or threaten me, exactly? It does not, of course, not in the least. So thank you to you for being so gracious and welcoming to that young woman, just trying to be who she is.
